Rafting on the Chulyshman River

The Chulyshman is a very intense and challenging whitewater trip. It includes five days rafting of Chulyshman River and one day of rafting on the famous Chuya River. Chulyshman is a remote river with beautiful landscapes and many waterfalls. It is well known for it's clear water.

We will run many very serious rapids such as Class V Begemot (Hippo) on the Chuya River and Class V Rapids on Chulyshman River. You will have chance to see one of the largests waterfalls in Siberia, and will finish your run at beautiful Teletskoe Lake.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1:

Arrival in Barnaul City and meet our guides. Transfer by bus to the settlement Aktash.

Day 2:

Rafting down Chuya river up to Begemot Rapids (“Hippo”, class 5), also we will run some other Class 3-4 rapids.

Chulyshman RiverDay 3:

Transfer by truck to Chulyshman river (6-7 hours). Campsite is on the bank of the river.

Day 4:

Raft the Chulysman up to the Tudanskiy Rapids. We will camp just before the rapids.

Run challenging Tudanskiy Cascade (Class V) of rapids.

bulletDay 6:

We run Itukaiskiy cascade of rapids (Class IV-V). Rafting to a mouth of the river Chulcha.

bulletDay 7:

Layover day. Trekking to Chulcha waterfalls. In the afternoon you will enjoy a real Russian sauna.

bulletDay 8:

Rafting to Teletskoe Lake. Camping on the bank of the lake.

bulletDay 9:

We will take a small ship or a motor boat across the lake to the village of Artybash. Transfer to Barnaul.

Day 10:

Flight from Barnaul to Moscow

Tour Includes:

Transfers to and from the Barnaul Airport

Scheduled trip date: August 1 - 10, 2009.

We can run a Chulyshman River rafting trip at any time of the season with a minimum of six participants. If a specific trip date has fewer than six participants the tour price may be increased.

Meals in Barnaul are not included in the tour price.
